I'll jump on board here. The salt's a fair trek from down here in N.Z.
but I've made it to 'mecca' in 2 out of 3 attempts. Tried in '82 ( you know,
the wet one ). Got there in '88 with my buddy Chris Harris and his C/STR. Chris
didn't have such a good run that year. Got there again in '98 when Chris and
crew brought his C/FR across with his partner at the time Willy White. I was
crewing that year for the Hogan/Martin/Rea XF/BMFR that went 181 before melting
the LHS cylinder head. I also crewed for a buddy of mine, Richard Hollywood
in '94 at Lake Gaidner in South Australia when he ran his C/GALT up to 198.
There's a chance I may get back up to Bonneville this year for Speed Week, we'll
just have to wait to see if that one pans out. I check the list each day, just
love the technical stuff. I'll chip in my humble two cents worth if I think
it's worthy of a contribution. Till then, keep it coming guys, it's great.
