Allen,

If you can gas weld...you can tig. Remember, welding is 10% theory, 90%
practice. I learned gas welding first, in the gas station at 15 doing
exhaust systems overhead...I have all the old time drag racing t-shirts
complete with genuine weld burns in them(smile). The problem with mig is
not getting good penetration and the weld itself is VERY hard! I guess
most of the Bonneville cars that I have inspected the last two years
were mig welded so it can be done safely. It's not a process that I
personnally like so I tig everything, Hell, I don't own a mig machine!!!
