Dick;

I suppose so but back then we weren't driving around shooting people or
dealing drugs. At worst, we drank a few beers, listened to Jerry Lee Lewis,
and drag raced. Our T- shirts were plain white (OK- maybe a few grease
stains) with a pack of Luckies rolled up in the sleeve. Ours didn't have
insulting slogans or language on them, either-- . At the drive- in on
Saturday night there might have been an occasional fistfight. Things weren't
settled with a full magazine of AK-47 rounds. I really feel sorry for kids
growing up these days. There really is a difference between "then" and "now"
and it's not good. BTW, after Pearl Harbor the recruiting offices were
jammed with young men wanting to enlist. On the news this week the military
reported that now they just can't fill their recruiting quotas-- what's
different between then and now?

Regards, Neil

Yup, just as I thought. I think Plato and
Socrates said that same thing a few thousand
years ago. And I think the same language was
used back during the Alan Freed hearings when the
government thought Rock and Roll should be
stopped because it was destroying our youth and
undermining the American way of life.

You just gotta be tolerant of those kids. Sooner
or later, they'll grow up.
