All GP bikes are now required to have 6 speeds max.  I believe there are a
couple of small Italian street bikes that have 7 speeds, but 6 is it for
most of them.
I always liked the old ones that put a small 3 speed box on the
countershaft, so you had to coordinate 2 shifters to get the right gear.

Question to scooter experts,
Did FIM ban those 12+ speed transmisions of the '60s?
I saw a 10 speed factory 125 (F-1) run at Willow around '62-'64. Yamaha 250
TD-1's were no competion. It lapped the field as I remember. Ask Vesco
he was running a TD-1 or TD-1B.
