Hi Rocky
Sounds like you have a big project ahead as none are easy. I think the best
thing for you to get answers is to log onto the following web site.
www.roadsters.com. Under landspeed resources you will find a section for
landspeed motorcycles. Three come to mind that would be your best bet for
help. They all have their own web sites listed.
Dennis Manning, Don Vesco and Sam wheeler all over 300 mph streamliner
motorcycles.
Another source is www. landracing.com and go to the message board and ask
questions. Also listed there is the e-mail address and how to get on the daily
landspeed list. Hope this helps and keep in touch. Good luck on the project.
Glen

Subject: Re: Motorcycle Streamliner
Hi List, I am new to this list and realize everyone is just returning from
Speed Week so I am waited a while to bring this up. Being new to Salt
Racing, I am currently working on getting an Indian motor into the 200 MPH
club and maybe a new record. Current plans include developing a small motor
and a large motor using the Big base Scout racing cases with vintage Indian
racing OHV conversion from the 30's. Nest year we intend to bring an open
frame motorcycle to test motord and start licensing runs with the intent to
bring a streamliner to the salt based on a P-38 belly tank the next year.
Currently we are starting to laid out CAD drawings for streamliner, But the
one thing I am having trouble understanding is the center hub steering and
how handlebars tilt up and away for entry. Anyone running this set-up that
could direct a newbie from Pennsylvania. Also questions regarding rear
suspension. Is it used or do you run a rigid rear wheel? I know I will have
a
lot more questions but I hope there is a few motorcycle streamliners on this
list. I want to attend the meet in September if possible to see how it is
done and to get the salt fever. Best regards, Rocky
