All I can say is WHOOOEEEE...we finally broke 150 mph!!! Yes, I pushed our
class record up to 151.8! It was a fun ride, and so cool to have Garry Banta
jump out of a truck to let me know the news.
I know that the Barbees also set a record with their street roadster at
196--my 6 year old nephew talked about their to prospective trophy and "those
two boys," as he calls them, all the way off the lakebed this afternoon.
Other than us and them, I do not know of any other specific records set.
It was a small meet with about 55 entries and it was quite windy at times,
including heavy crosswinds. The course held up much better than the other
meets so far this year.
Unfortunately, there was an accident that closed the meet before everyone had
a second run. Perhaps someone who knows more about it will comment later. I
am sorry to not give more information, but I just don't know much more and I
must admit that I don't feel comfortable giving out vague details on such a
sensitive topic. My prayers are with those involved and affected by the
incident.
