Terrific piece on flywheels Bill!

While reading it my thoughts turned to gyroscopes....is that a factor in LSR
flywheels?.
Two wheelers have an in-line flywheel so I guess there's a gyroscopic
factor there.
Also I suppose wheels act as gyro's...how does ground contact effect that?.
Are heavy/light wheel assemblies a major/minor factor?.
So does a sideways mounted powerplant make an LSR more stable because of
any gyro effect along with in-line torsional weight shift??.

Some streamliners use gyros dont they?.
I bet there are some experts out there on this!.
