A question about staying in GT class which requires the interior and
exterior to be fairly stock.
Concerning the interior, we are building a 1985 vette and I understand {I
THINK} the restrictions on seats, door panels, carpets, etc.
My question is about GT class and the DASH area. I want to "keep the
physical dimensions of the dash exactly the same" in terms of height, width
and depth, but I want to change out all the gauges and put other things in
the various holes in the dash. Remember the 1985 dash looked like it came
out of an atari game set. Sooo... if I have all the original pieces of
plastic in place (same general look and feel as stock), will the tech folks
let me stay in GT if the gauges are different and the other holes are
filled up with misc. switches, nobs, lights, etc.?
*****
Also, for the construction of the front of the roll cage, I would like the
placement better (and the ingress/egress from the car better), if I put a
"C" shaped NOTCH in the dash to move the "down tube" slightly forward that
goes from the top hoop down to the frame. If I put an inch deep notch in
the dash does that get me in trouble in GT?
Thanks in advance for any others running GT that might have a comment or two.
