Dave, sure, tell us what you know about all the setup on the Burklands
Streamliner. Tom Burkland has just given us an interesting and meaty
message courtesy of Wes Potter. But what you learned about the
technical details is also very valuable. Cooling system, fuel system,
lubrication system, engine management. Anything and everything.
I believe all speed trials people want to improve performance,
reliability and ease of maintenance, whatever equipment they run.
The Burklands car and others like it are really monumental achievements.
Not just the design and construction, not just the money to buy
powerplants of that scope, but all the myriad of details that have to be
managed, and the sheer hard work of maintenance and operation. The
knowledge involved is encyclopedic.
