In Britain it has been accepted that the McLaren F1 3 seater road car is a
production unit - if you had $1,000,000 you could buy this Supercar ready
made from the factory (from the most exotic materials).
How fast it goes depends upon the location. At Millbrook, England it
lapped at 195.3 mph average speed. On the VW test track in Germany (a
straight line flat track) its maximum speed was recorded as 240.1 mph. At
Nardo in Italy on a banked oval it went 231 mph. On a 2 mile runway in
the UK a journalist hit a speed of 211 mph (similar to a run at Maxton).

If you had gold insulation in the engine compartment of your car would you
put it on the salt ??

Malcolm Pittwood, Derby, England. (where I do not have a $1 million to buy
one either).
