Hi
I was fortunate enough to spend Saturday, Sunday, And Tuesday At the Salt.
Speedweek is one big busy racing thing. The weather was excellent, the
salt better than I have seen it in a long time. It must have been good for
racing, cause everytime I went by impound, there were a LOT of cars and
bikes there. I think I counted something like 18 in impound Tuesday
afternoon. I went back out tuesday, cause I needed more information on a
steering dampner a friend wants to run at World of Speed. But driving back
out (from Salt Lake city) ment that I got to attend the excellent excellent
Salt Talks gathering at the Bend in the Road. Hats off to the Amo Guys!
They really outdid themselves. They had Burgers and Hotdogs fresh off the
charcoal grill, chips and lemonade. And what a nice turnout! there must
have been 50+ folks there. I got to meet a bunch of folks i only knew from
thier posts to this list or a little on the phone. What a fine bunch of
people. I hated to have to leave for Salt Lake City.
Keith was all done due to engine indigestion, Jack Costella had just
finished swapping engines in the Motel 6 parking lot, the Amo guys had
their nitrous bike in impound, Tom Bryant was 'rasslin with his tuneup
runnin a little off his usual pace, Ed Shadle was there with a few photos
of his jet powered project. the Black Radon guys had just finished a
200+MPH license pass. All this under overcast skys bringing cooler temps.
It doesn't get much better than this!
Hope to see you all there next year! bye for now.
