Having yanked a honking heavy jet dragster around the nation for four
years in a double axle trailer, I can tell you that Dick is right on
the money about always having reserve pedal -- especially when big
rigs blow past. Getting off the throttle not only makes things worse
aerodynamically, but unloads the suspension just when you need to have
it tight and flat to withstand lateral forces (side to side). The
manufacturer specs should be your foremost guide, but from the various
posts to this thread, you have been given 30 years of experience in a
matter of days.
