As far as cars go, the FIA consider a 'World Record' to be the fastest
record that exists over a given distance, irrespective of category or class.
In other words, to the FIA there is only one World Record for the flying
mile which is the fastest class record, all the other class records are
International Records.
For bikes, however, it's different because any FIM record is called a 'World
Record', so what for a car would be an 'international record' would be a
'World Record' on a bike.
