Dick,
My brother-in-law built a new home on a couple of acres of property. He
wanted to build an attached garage with space for four cars. The zoning
people said no! He asked if he could build a 30x40 shop at the back of the
property ... same answer. Then he asked if he could build a barn ... it's
horse country, no limit on the size of pole barn he could put up so he
started thinking of a 40x40 barn ... ended up with a 40x60 because he sold
off some of the property. The only livestock that will see the inside of
that barn art the two cats that keep the field mice population under
control. It's fully insulated, two roll up overhead doors, gas heat, he
paints cars in a visqueen "spray booth" in the middle of the building, has
five cars under various stages of completion, two are his, one he is
building for a friend, one belongs to his son and one to a friend who used
to have a body shop and is a lot of help on straightening things. The envy
of every gear head he knows. Some people are lucky! Others just have to be
able to ask the right questions.
