THIS EVENING, AS MY WIFE, MARY ANN AND I WATCHED THE LAST SUNSET OF THE
TWENTIETH CENTURY, HERE ON THE CONNECTICUT SHORELINE, I REFLECTED ON WHAT A
GREAT CENTURY WE HAVE LIVED IN, AND ALSO WHAT A GREAT COUNTRY WE RESIDE IN,
WHERE WE CAN ENJOY OUR MANY INTERESTS AND HOBBIES.
I REALIZED THAT MANY OF MY OLD FRIENDS THAT I WRENCHED WITH , RACED
WITH, AND LEARNED FROM, IN OVER FIVE DECADES OF HOTRODDING AND RACING
ACTIVITIES, HAD ALREADY SEEN THEIR LAST SUNSET, SOME ALL TOO LONG AGO.
THEREFORE, I FEEL FORTUNATE, INDEED, TO ENTER THIS, THE 21ST CENTURY ,
AND WISH MY PALS OF YESTERYEAR COULD DO THE SAME. SO, AS WE CELEBRATE THIS
NEW CENTURY'S ARRIVAL AT MIDNIGHT, AND ANTICIPATE NEW FRIENDSHIPS AND
ADVENTURES IN EVERYDAY LIFE AND AUTOMOTIVE PURSUITS, I WILL ALSO RAISE A
GLASS IN REMEMBERANCE OF OLD PALS, AND THE GREAT TIMES WE SHARED IN THIS,
THE CENTURY PAST.
TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU ------
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
