Did anybody else get the following message? Not being much of a computer
wizard, whats the deal?
Hello...
I'm Damien Toy and I have a question for you and all speed
enthusiasts. Are you familiar with WebRings? If not I added
some text at the bottom of this e-mail explaining them in
detail.
Within the last couple of days I started a Land Speed
Racing WebRing. I did this in the hopes that I could help
to unify the web presence of land speed racing related
sites on the web and maybe take advantage of the growth in
the internet and recent media coverage of speed racing
events. While slowly developing the website for our own
race team (ProToys) I got to my "Links" page I came to this
realization: There is no real comprehensive list or true
resource for land speed racing on the internet. So I began
to look for other avenues. Try to get anything from a
search engine by typing land speed racing or bonneville or
el mirage and you'll see the need. What you get won't be
much help. That's where web rings come in. One WebRing is
not likely to bring everyone together into a tightly knit
group but It would help people searching, surfing, or
trying to contact/locate different groups and
organizations. Smaller sites get more exposure and larger
sites (especially ones with something to sell) benefit from
the increased traffic. All you have to do is sign up then
put the banner on your website, keeping it obvious and
accessible. I tried to make the banner as unobtrusive as
possible (I dislike banners on any page not to mention my
own) and made it real easy to use. Well anyhow I'd like to
see as many people/teams as possible on it for everyones
sake so please give it some thought. If your interested go
to our web page at: http://members.xoom.com/protoys/
,soon to be ProToys.com, and click on the home/join button
on the LSR WebRing banner anter you've been redirected to
find out more. Please Reply to protoys@xoommail.com
Thanks for your time.
