Thanks for the recommendation on the varnish. Will look into this and was
definitely planning on using a marine grade varnish.
Before I varnish I need to restain the wood on the glove box door. It
needed to be sanded so it needs to be stained first before I can varnish.
Thanks,
David

I use a product called Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish, it comes in sizes of
250 ml, 500 ml or 1 litre. I have redone at least 8 dashboards from
Austin-Healey and TR-6 with that product and it lasts. Quite expensive but
very good quality this is a marine product, mainly used on wooden boats.

Subject: [Healeys] BJ8 Dashboard
I am in the process of refinishing the glove box cover on my 1965 Austin
Healey. I need to restain it - does anyone know of a good stain color match
as the rest of the dashboard is still original and in great shape.
Thanks,
David
