Kenneth, I=92m afraid I can=92t help with your question. My car is a birds =
and as such doesn=92t have its original running gear. I vaguely remember he=
aring about some cars with 16=94 wheels, but can=92t recall the circumstanc=
es.

I=92ll second that. Colin Bailey, who did Rich=92s bodywork, used the Kilm=
artin rockers on mine and Rich gave me that same speech about curves! When =
I first had the rockers done way back in =9278, I got replacements from Spo=
rts and Classics, but they were straight and Rich would tease me mercilessl=
y about them. When he re-did them in 2008 he put them right.
Cheers, MIrek

As explained in an article by the late Rich Chrysler, there are no straight=
lines on an Austin Healey. The correct rocker panels will have a very subt=
le compound curve which bows slightly to the outside of the body and also d=
roops a bit under the doors. These must be made in a press. Many after mark=
et rockers are produced on a brake, which can only give a straight fold. Th=
ese parts mar the symmetry of the intended body line. If you have ever seen=
a car that just had something wrong either the look of the lower body it p=
robably had the straight rockers installed. I don=92t know anything about t=
he Moss part, but I know the KAS part is correct.

Can anyone please tell me if the Kilmartin rocker panels for the BJ8 are wo=
rth three times as much as those from Moss?
I have to declare that I have had Kilmartin stuff before, and whilst good, =
it's not been perfect!
