Simon-I did all of my test readings on the bench-transmission out of=0At=
he car. I use an electric drill, in reverse, to drive the yoke and=0Aobt=
ain the readings.=0AWhat you describe is a pressure issue in the accumul=
ator. The car will=0Anot shift into OD with low pressure. It needs that=
high number to=0Aovercome the 8 springs which keep the cone clutch to t=
he rear position=0A(direct drive). Then as the pump builds up pressure,=
it is available=0Awhen you flip the switch allowing the ball to seat in=
the=0Avalve.(providing that is seating properly-not bleeding down) That=
high=0Apressure drives the two horizontal pistons forward, pushing agai=
nst,=0Aand compressing, the 8 springs and allowing the cone clutch to no=
w run=0Ato the front position, rotating the annulus and sun gear, thus=
=0Aeffecting OD. =0AYou do not have enough pressure to do that. The hot=
oil suggests lower=0Aviscosity, and loss of sealing of the O-rings and=
piston rings. So=0Ayes, I also think you are looking at a tear down and=
rebuild of the=0Aaccumulator and oil pump parts. =0AContact David at OD=
Spares and see if he concurs and order the=0Anecessary parts...sounds l=
ike its time for that. It would be nice to=0Ahave that tunnel back in po=
sition and all working normal. Hank =0A=0A=09---------------------------=

=0A=0A=09Actually, it=E2=80=99s all gone pear-shaped! =0A=0A=09I discus=

or pressure to drop to zero. He said that re-seating the ball=0Ahad fixe=
d it. =0A=0A=09I took it out for a run down a local motorway and some co=
untry roads.=0A10 miles+/-. On the way to this particular pub- surprise=
=E2=80=93 the OD=0Abehaved well, better than for a while. Popped in and=
out very briskly.=0A=0A=0A=09I only stayed for 20 minutes or so at the=
pub, by which time there=0Amust have been a fair old heat transfer from=
gearbox and engine. It=0Adid worse and worse on the way back. Pressure=
at 250psi in higher revs=0Aand practically 0 at low revs. Paradoxically=
would click into OD=0Anicely but was back to slipping in/out at low rev=
s. =0A=0A=09I=E2=80=99m feeling my inner Basil Fawlty coning on. I=E2=80=

the whole=0Acontrol of the pressure and release and dirt is the main of=
fender. =0A=0A=09What I see on my gauge is pressure over 400-450, then=
when OD is off.=0Aa steady bleed down to 300, 200, 100 then in a couple=
of minutes, or=0Asometimes a bit longer, goes to 0. Its a "slow bleed".=
Fades as the=0Aoil flows down thru the valve and that tiny hole. Enlarg=
ing it will=0Amake the bleed faster and the plugging up with debris hard=
er to=0Aachieve. They recommend a 1MM hole if I remember the readings=0A=
correctly, but its a small drilling to allow oil to pass smoothly to=0At=
he sump. This is why you don't want 90W gear oil-its to "thick" to=0Awor=
k with the unit, and it also foams up in the annulus. Good 30W (or=0A20-=
50) NON detergent oil is best to keep this process working.=0A(detergent=

the ball and the=0Aseat, and it then needs a smack to reseat the fit. S=
