The distance from the bottom of the soft-top anchor to the bolt hole is =
5/8=E2=80=9D =E2=80=93 so add that to Michael=E2=80=99s 1.25=E2=80=9D =
and you get a total of 1 7/8=E2=80=9D from the top of the boot hinge to =
the anchor hole. That hole is 3/8=E2=80=9D diameter.
=20
There is a further hole 1=E2=80=9D north of that. It is an anchor hole =
to stop the anchor swivelling. It is 1/8=E2=80=9D diameter. It is a =
locator peg only, not a threaded stud.

Can't give you the hole distance but, from the tip of the trunk hinge to =
the closest point of the top socket is 1.25".

OK, so everyone on the list is busy today. I got no answers to my =
question. A friend suggested I feel under the inside of the shroud for =
a blob of Bondo near the existing hole. Well, here is what I found. On =
the passenger side it is quite evident this guy filled the hole behind =
the existing hole. I don't know if it is welded (I doubt it), but you =
can see where it was filled in. The other side is not so clear. This =
idiot cleaned the inside up where it will never show. I could not feel =
this with my finger. I had to get my cell phone and take a picture in =
selfie mode so I could see when to snap it. Just for once couldn't the =
body shop be normal and just leave a blob of Bondo like a normal person =
would.

Can someone with a 100 measure for me the distance from the tip of the =
trunk hinge at the top to the two holes for the convertible top =
retaining bar fitting? Somehow during the bodywork one of the holes was =
filled in on both sides. I can't be sure which hole they left there. =
If you expand the included picture you can see the single hole I have =
for the retainer bar fitting. I can't figure if this is the forward =
hole or the rear one.
