I got a fix-it ticket a few years ago while driving a Mitsubishi =
Eclipse. I quickly fabricated a snap on bracket, drove to the police =
station, had the ticket signed off, left the station, stopped and =
removed the front plate. I don=E2=80=99t have front plates on the healey =
or my daily driver. However, it does not matter if the car came without =
a front mounting bracket, in California it is the owners=E2=80=99 =
responsibility to mount the front plate. If I am pulled over for that I =
plan on telling them that I just finished some body work and the front =
bracket is backordered. Don=E2=80=99t know if that will work.

I have long thought that this was inevitable with all the red light =
cameras and all the bridges going cashless, no human toll takers, =
encouraging the use of Fastrak.
