It appears be primarily designed to withstand very high temperatures. It mi=
ght be a good choice for insulating the carb float bowls from the exhaust m=
anifold as an example.
It is also very thin (not very good at reducing conducted heat) & has a ref=
lective surface (good for reflecting radiant heat) so it might be a good ch=
oice for insulating the underside of the trans tunnel. No R values availabl=
e on their web site. Try asking them for the R value. stated in btu/inch of=

gaps you find in the engine bay.=C2=A0 Any opening will let heat in of cour=
se.=C2=A0I didn=E2=80=99t use any caulking when I installed the tunnel; jus=
t the factory seals for the tunnel IIRC; But, it=E2=80=99s been awhile=E2=
=80=A6=C2=A0As far as heat insulation, I used a product called Refletix; ca=
n=E2=80=99t say it reduced the heat any or not; it=E2=80=99s still hot in t=
he footwell.=C2=A0 I think if I were doing it today, I=E2=80=99d use Dynama=
t.=C2=A0 I just put some in another vehicle as sound insulation and it work=
s great for that and is supposed to reduce heat as well.=C2=A0 I put the Re=
fletix on the gearbox side of the tunnel as it=E2=80=99s rather thick, but =
I think I=E2=80=99d put Dynamat on the inside.=C2=A0 It=E2=80=99s very thin=

day, I=E2=80=99d use Dynamat.&nbsp; I just put some in another vehicle as s=
ound insulation and it works great for that and is supposed to reduce heat =
as well.&nbsp; I put the Refletix on the gearbox side of the tunnel as it=
=E2=80=99s rather thick, but I think I=E2=80=99d put Dynamat on the inside.=
&nbsp; It=E2=80=99s very thin (but heavy), so I don=E2=80=99t think it woul=
d make the&nbsp; carpet look too thick.&nbsp; Not cheap, though.&nbsp; &nbs=
p;Alot of the custom car shops use it; Foose, Kindigit, etc.</span></div>
