My car was running great...
In june it was running hot on our trip to Victoria BC. It had been running
around 185. On trip it started running up to 212 and then way hot after
parking.
The car has continued to behave this way all summer. I replaced the newish
radiator cap topped up and went for a drive tonight. 64 degrees ambient
temp.
Drove for 30 miles and stopped to check. Temp went past 220 and water began
to flow out the overflow tube and some squirted out of the hose fitting and
water pooled around the bottom of the filler neck.
So why would start doing this after running cool and fine for a year or
so? I'm going to see if I can borrow a pump to check the radiator neck for
poor cap fitting. I don't understand what would cause it to happen?
Sorry, I have to mention that the thermostat opened at about 168 degrees
and water flowed through the system
