We have rebuilt 100=E2=80=99s of 6 cylinder Healey motors over the last =
30+ years and have not run into this problem. Not to say that it =
happens. I have heard of it and there used to be a kit available to fix =
it. But the kit is no longer available.
My suggestion to Bruce was to look at the head gasket first since it is =
a much easier job to do first. As well as there is a oil galley thru the =
head and if there is a crack in the head that may also be an issue.

Hi
This is what happens when you restore an engine properly, e. g. you =
clean the stripped block thouroughly. Cast iron is quite pourous and the =
wall between the oil channel and water jacket is quite thin. When you =
clean the block you also wipe away any gunk that acts as sealant, so it =
starts to leak oil into the water. Usually you can get away with this =
problem by installing steel pipes in the oil channel that goes across =
the block and also the channel up to the top.

Finally diving in to diagnose and fix the oil in the coolant. Hoping =
it's just the head gasket, but since it started after the engine was =
done 11 years ago, I am suspicious that it's the oil gallery-water =
jacket wall between number 4 and 5 cylinders seeping high pressure oil =
into the coolant. Has anyone actually had or known anyone with this =
problem?
