in the early 80s four thunderbirds in their T-38 slammed into the ground north of las vegas, killing all four. investigation revealed a nut had come off and lodged in the elevator bellcrank on the lead aircraft. he was unable to apply enough g force to pull out of the dive. a 2 cent cotter pin had not been put in the bolt and the nut came off, falling into the bellcrank. if it calls for a pin, put it in. _______________________________________________ Archive: http://www.team.net/archive Healeys@autox.team.net http://autox.team.net/mailman/listinfo/healeys |
