I have a new electronic SU fuel pump that also does that. Since no fuel is
leaking into the carbs or over flowing the float bowls, I assume the check
valve in the pump is letting the pressure bleed off & the pump clicks
occasionally to raise the pressure back up to the design level. I can not find
any leaks in the plumbing.

Subject: [Healeys] Fuel Pump query
Hi,
If I turn the ignition on in my MkII BT7, the petrol pump does its clickety
lick click as per normal, then it clicks about once every 90 seconds
hereafter. There is no leak that I can detect, nor a smell of fuel
nywhere. Tapping the float chambers, a cure-all for many SU issues, makes
o difference. Any ideas...? Or is it normal? (I don't think so).
And, of course, I could simply ignore it....
