On Sunday I requested confirmation or refutation of a rumour that the Special
Test Car NOJ 393 had been re-sold again to Australia forB B B#1.2m or
$1,885,000US after the Bonhams auction.B B
B
Following my request on various forums for confirmation or refutation of the
rumour, I got three responses; one from John Ruston, one from Doug Nye, and
one from Patrick Quinn on this forum.
B
John Ruston indicated that b... the car is going to Australia for
restoration. No change in ownership.b
B
Doug Nye stated: bTo the best of my knowledge this supposed 'rumour' is
utter twaddle - the car is instead being entrusted by its buyer at the Bonhams
auction to a specialist Austin-Healey restorer in Australia."
B
And Patrick Quinn wrote: "NOJ 393 was bought at auction by a European
Austin-Healey enthusiast who owns two other four-cylinder cars, both of which
were restored in Australia.B As far as I am aware the car has not been sold
to anyone in Australia."
B
Hopefully, the resale rumour is now put asunder.
