[Healeys] tri-carb question

On tri-carb Healeys was there a spacer between the metal heat shield & the
intake manifolds or just a gasket? I know that on the later tri-carbs with
asbestos heat shields on both sides of the metal shield there was a spacer
between the carb & metal shield but not on the earlier tri-carbs.
