I believe the generator is polarized (which can of course be  easily changed
by flashing it) and I merely suggested testing its output as a remaining
indicator of how the car was last wired.  Otherwise, without a fuel pump, I
don't think anything else is polarity-sensitive except maybe the tach about
which I don't know.
