While we are discussing fan belts, the Concours Standards require a
smooth v-belt. It seems from the discussions here that finding any
v-belt that is the correct size is difficult and most, if not all, of
them available at auto stores have teeth in the underside. My local
Advance Auto Parts had no smooth ones at all. Even those coming from
Moss Motors were said to have fitment problems.
I have a factory original 51 year old fan belt from a 1960 BT7 that
measures 44 1/4" around the outside. Does the Concours committee expect
us to dredge up old, unsafe belts like that to keep from getting a
deduction?
