Richard,

What works for me is a grade 8 flatwasher under the bolt head on the shock side
and a split lockwasher on the chassis side. A little threadlocker can't hurt,
either.

I have a clunk in the rear of my car. It has been there two years, since I
replaced my rear shocks. The 1800 miles to Rendezvous made the problem worse.
On inspection, the nuts holding the shocks were only hand tight. I am having a
tough time keeping the rear shocks from coming loose on my BJ8. I have split
ring lock washers on now but they keep needing to be tightened. I tried a
second nut on each bolt a while ago but that does not work any better. Has any
one tried a split rind lock washer on each side? How about star washers? I am
sending one unit back cause the holes are too large.
Thanks
