I've been toying with removing the relay altogether...... It's purpose to to
ensure that the overdrive does not dissengage until the engine rpm is raised
to match the lower gear, much like blipping the throttle on a downshift.
Not sure if the original intent was to increase comfort for the driver or to
protect the overdrive.
Regardless, one could consciously blip the throttle when using the overdrive
in liew of the relay...I suspect that racers use this method as it would
give more control.
Any thoughts?
Paul
