This probably will not be much help unless you live nearby, but I have two
complete MGB 4 syncro gearboxes, one overdrive, one non-overdrive. Both
need to be rebuilt, but I was not having any problems with reverse. The
gearboxes are located on Long Island and are available free to anyone who
wants to come pick them up.
As far as the syncro rings are concerned you might as well replace them
while you have the box apart.
