Doug,
Actually the BN1 wings are 1 1/4 to almost 1 3/4 inches smaller than the BN2
wings.
I'll pass this question off to Bill Barnett since he has personal experience
with early BN1 wings and fairly aggressive tires but I believe that he has
had few problems.
