Canadian Requirements

We are planning to take the northern route passed the Great Lakes
to Conclave. Passports are on hand, even though not required, but
a club member just mentioned that a Canadian insurance card is required
for entry into Canada with an automobile.

Does anyone know if this is a fact or just rumor? Years ago I entered
Canada and was not required to provide ay insurance documents, has it
changed?
