Few quick overdrive switch questions for Healey owners -
A mechanic recently mentioned a better way to mount an A-type
overdrive switch to my TRiumph TR4A.
He suggested a mounting a Healey 3000 overdrive switch. My question
to Healey 3000 owners is - where does the switch mount??
Inside the shift lever? On or under the dash?
Second, does anyone have an "relay operated lockout" for their
overdrive unit that disengages the electronic overdrive when backing
up, see below.
Larry Varley "modified the operating circuit so that it engages in all
forward gears, with a relay operated reverse lockout activated by the
gearbox reverse light switch."
see, http://www.acmefluid.com.au/larry/volvo/index.html
Finally, does anyone use a setup like the Chatham Healey 100/4, see
http://www.acmefluid.com.au/larry/chatham.html
"The gearstick is crooked well back to the driver's side and topped
with a spun aluminium knob cleverly incorporating the overdrive
switch."
Thanks,
Ted
