BJ8 window cranks

On the subject of replacement BJ8 door/window handles. I bought new
window handles from Moss and they started to tear up my new upholstered
door panels. The stem of the knobs are too long and hit the upholstery.
It looks like I have to remove the window handles again, grind the stem
of the knob flush, paint the stem of the knob and reasemble.
I wish I could just find some new black knobs for my old rechromed
original window handles.
