The shipping process is not that difficult if you use one of the several
companies that live of exporting cars. I have several friends that have
exported cars from US, and it is not too difficult or expensive as long
as the shipping company knows what they are doing. The cost for freight
from US to Norway is $1500 - $2500 if the car is delivered at the docks.

There are also lots of appraisal companies in the US that he should use
if he is seriously interested. These companies will check title and
condition more thoroughly than the average buyer. (And most importantly,
keep a clear head when looking at a car...)

But the Healeys are not that cheap in the US, the price of a well
restored a AH is usually $35000 - $50000 here in Norway, but when
importing a car a 25% VAT will be added to the purchase and transport
cost...

Not sure of values in Australia, though.

Tomas
