I think that the original felt was molded but that is my opinion and 
I am certainly no expert.

For the rubber bit try http://steelerubber.com look for part number 33-0507-62

If you search 1957 Cadillac, Body and Chassis Parts, Lookup rubber 
parts; it will show up when you scroll down the list as:

Pad, vent window frame, self-retaining, 1/2" diameter X 5/32" high, 
for 3/16" hole. Eldorado Brougham. 33-0507-62.....$ 1.30/ea.
