flywheel bolts

This past fall  removed my flywheel for inspection and possible
lightening. I have recently re-installed it but have yet to put the 
tranny back in.

My son suggests I should NOT have used the original bolts
to re-install the flywheel but rather purchased new hardware.
Although I used the "old" bolts, I did install new locking tabs.

Should I go back and replace the flywheel bolts before installing the tranny?
