Thanks Magnus, I am aware of this, but good to point it out.  I have a  BN1 
with the spiral bevel axle and a conversion to front discs and I have been 
struggling with this since I got the car, if BN2s they in fact had these 
characteristics when new I would think the bias ply tires then in use would 
have made it worse (in the snese that the rears would lock sooner).
