Porting

My motor is a 2.6 liter with a 6 port head from a 58 BN6. Is it advisable or
a worthwhile effort to port and polish the head and intake manifold? The
inner diameter of the intake manifold runners that attach to the head ports
have been machined round and to a specific entrance angle. I'm not sure if
this was stock factory practice or a mod from a PO.
