Need some recommendations from the list. Dismantled a centershift trans and
overdrive unit today. Someone rebuilt the trans not long ago as the gear set
is new but used silicone excessively to apparently stop gasket leaks. Bad
idea as the silicone bits plugged the OD pump screen.
The OD will need new friction surfaces on the OD clutch assembly. Shrapnel
has eaten things up. The rest of the OD will need a general overhaul. Looking
for recommendations for a repair shop on mainland US or Canada that can
handle the job. OD only, not the gearbox. This is the first OD for me in over
forty years of playing with these things that will require the replacement of
the friction linings. Appreciate your suggestions and don't worry about later
repercussions if things don't work out.
