I am getting an order together right now and noticing a massive cost
difference between parts from the US and those from the UK. Even when
you factor the conversion rate with the weak dollar, the parts from
the UK are less than half the price. Since most Healeys made it to
North America, and presumably this would be where the economies of
scale would kick in the most, why so much?
Here are a couple examples from a couple suppliers on each shore for
stuff I need to order today. This morning the conversion rate was ~
$1.82 per #1.00
