Friends, Sod's law hit me. I'm renewing the scuttle top as the plywood
had been eaten away by moisture. The scuttle top carries 4 funny pins to
attach the tonneau cover (I believe they're called Tenax fasteners). The
pins are screwed into four very peculiar nuts: small discs with three
small holes and three small dimples along the outer circumference and a
kind of raised centerpiece which is threaded in its bore. Can't figure
out what thread it is, but definitely not metric!
To cut a long story short: while derusting the four nuts with my power
drill and a circular wire brush I managed to loose one nut - it flew
through my garage, hit something somewhere, fell, and disappeared from
the earth. I went through my garage on my knees, cleaned everything in
the hope I would find it back but the only result is that I have a
garage that has never before been so clean - but I'm still short of this
very peculiar nut.
Therefore this worldwide appeal: is there anyone anywhere in the Healey
universe who has such a nut surplus and is willing to send it t me?
I'll be happy to pay any postage charges.
