I drained the OD to get ready to replace the rear seal. I found three fiber (may be leather) washers on top of the strainer. I don't see them in the manuals. Could this be a mistake from previous work? Most of the leak appears to be coming from the rear case/brake ring joint. Can the rear case be moved aft far enough to put sealer on both sides of the ring without causing the inner mechanism to come apart? Ned Smith BJ8 near Chattanooga, TN N34.98 W85.5 |
