There are two styles
of thermostats they are both sleeved.
The bellows style is an old antique
style of thermostat.
The problem with these is that when the pressure
increases in the
cooling system it colapses the bellows and closes the
thermostat.
This will cause the system to overheat. So if you are using a
higher
presssure in your cooling system you will overheat with the bellows
style thermostat.
Also the bellows style if it is to fail it is in the
closed position,
the wax capsule style thermostat is designed to fail in
the open
position.
