Yup.  This works.  I'm doing it right now.  Why ?  To check (at least the
forward) caged bearing and add an end plate shim.  Shimmed to tight right now.

Hi Paul,

Loosen
the olive nut & the bolts on the steering box end plate. Separate
the plate
from the housing a bit. It will still take a while to drain.
