I believe it is screwed to the dashboard on either side of the console and
to the fiberglass tunnel by two nuts that are just inside the front edge.
The rear of the console is fastened by one screw that is revealed when the
armrest is removed. The armrest, which may be non-standard in my case, is
held in by a self-tapping screw at its aft end. The front end fits in a
recess in the console.

This may seem like an elementary question, but how do you remove the 
console and armrest from a BJ8?  The workshop manual says to loosen the 
clips, but what kind of clips?  I don't want to start prizing around on 
it and bugger the thing up. Any help appreciated.
