mentioned way to adjust timing I would say that it is false, may get you
close.  You will need a timing light and the one with the adjustable
degree scale built in works the best, that way you adjust the timing
light to the amount of degree's and use the zero mark on the crankshaft
pulley.  If you are using the dual point unit set up the points and
dwell before setting ignition timing.  Another little quirk is the
condenser, on Mallory units always scrub it with a piece of sand paper
to get a good ground or they have a tendency to fail quickly.  You can
also get a set of springs to fine tune the advance curve if needed to
suit engine tune.
